Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name (Psalm 100:4 HCSB). There is nothing as sweet and endearing as spending time in God's presence. The majesty of this experience is enhanced upon a person's soul as a beautiful painting. This is the quiet space, a peaceful serenade of God's "still small voice." There is no need to announce this wonderful place with a musical celebration of sorts. This is a solemn occasion of everlasting intent and accompanied by Goodness and Mercy. An endowment that enriches the soul as we sojourn each and every day.
The importance of this prayer time is special and unique to every person. Therefore, as the wind of the Holy Spirit comes to us from any direction and passes by, the vision is given to a person or community of faith through the freedom of the Spirit. The enlightenment of heavenly colour and joyous expression is especially given and does not fit the form of a paint-by-number theology. There is no need for external control since this is the presence of God unlimited. It would be impossible for me to describe the vast expanse of God's majesty except to animate the "song of songs" most wonderful. The beauty of this experience is easily seen within the prayers and meditations of the psalmist and not to be associated with the hurried agenda of instant prayer. Surely the tender heart of Jesus would offer some help to the incomplete requests of people today.
The Bible tells us that we would know God's voice and surely this comes from an "in sync" fellowship as given through the Holy Spirit. As mentioned earlier, the "still small voice" is unique to our spirit and may only be a sweet assurance of glad tidings. Thus, the volume level of this message requires a quiet place and may seem like "no reply" when mixed with the hustle and bustle of modern society. A person should be aware of the paint-by-number theology that would limit or diminish the entirety of God's message. The inundation of too many
out of context or
spiritually discerned teachers shouldn't replace the real message of God's heart. The invitation is to join together at the banqueting table of God's delight.
